papagaio health kitchen

papagaio

This week the Huskies decided to swing by Papagaio Health Kitchen in Kingsland. We’re on a bit of a health bender at the moment as we head into winter, so this looked like a fab place to try out! The open and spacious cafe is a part of the Health & Sports Gym, so it’s usually bustling with plenty of people coming and going, which can make for a lively atmosphere. The staff here are super friendly and customer service is one of their drawcards. Being greeted with a genuine smile and eagerness to make our experience a good one is always top notch.

Alongside their main menu options, it’s clear why Papagaio is a locals go to for takeaways—their cabinet is packed with plenty of healthy goodies. We had our pick from vibrant salads, hearty wraps, and even some guilt-free sweet treats that hit the spot – definitely something for everyone.

This time round we dug into delicious Eggs Benedict, savoured a flavourful chicken panini, and loved the protein-packed salad that left us feeling fueled up for what can sometimes feel like a Friday arvo post-lunch slump. We also tried some of their juices and smoothies, which were spot on – fresh, flavoursome and definitely made us ‘feel’ healthier. Beware though, these are more filling than you think! Finding a local place like Papagaio that not only serves up tasty food but also encourages healthier choices is a win. It’s definitely earned a spot on our list for a wholesome lunch.

Total spend – 4 people – $114.14

Louise had the lunch special of baked chicken burrito with mixed salad and drank a green juice. She said, “I have traditionally loved the food here but today’s burrito was dry and over-seasoned with cumin. Not a fan. Juice was a good time though and the ping of mint makes me happy. Enjoying all the healthy plants they have going on at the moment around the dining area.”

Mel had the eggs bene with bacon and drank a detox juice. She said, “Love this little cafe, lots of very healthy options to choose from and really tasty. It is a gym cafe, so it can be a bit noisy and not super atmospheric, but still a great spot if you’re on a health spin. I always find the staff very friendly and helpful.”

Sam had  the protein salad. He said, “Being so close to my house, it’s a good healthy option and there are also some good looking takeaway salads and treats too.”

Sarah had the chicken panini and drank a peppermint tea. She said, “Really good, healthy food options but the cafe is definitely a gym cafe. There was even first aid training happening in one corner. Really good flavours in the food and lots of options, even keto sweet treats. I would stop here a lot if this was my gym.”
