THE ROLLING PIN
It’s not very often that we get to review our own Husk clients for Husk Lunch. But today was one of those days. A really, really good day. The Rolling Pin had been a labour of love for the past 9 months and we have the privilege of helping Gordon Kong’s vision come to life — from coming up with a catchy name for his business down to the food truck design. You may feel that this review could be biased. Fair enough. It probably is. We feel we’ve every right to be. The Rolling Pin’s menu is tailored to be gluten free, halal and vegetarian-friendly. Each pastry wrapped has been hand-rolled from scratch (no buying junk in bulk here) – everything down to the locally-sourced, crunchy-fresh produce show Gordon has given his ingredients plenty of thought. We sampled their two winter flavours: Penang Pulled Beef and Vegetarian with pumpkin, bok-choy, tofu and shiitake mushrooms. Both were super-tasty and generously wrapped and the fresh red cabbage and coriander salad gave it plenty of crunch. Looking forward to their expanding the menu options (we’re drooling over promises of chicken and mushroom) – in the meantime we’ll be continue to line up the Rolling Pin for our staff functions for sure! Check out their Facebook page to see where they be rolling to next.
