Lanterns of Hope | 22.1.10
One of our favourite moments during Christmas just gone was putting together our client Christmas campaign called 'Lanterns of Hope'. We assembled packages of 'amazing flying lanterns' and sent them to our clients around the country to release to the heavens on New Years' Eve with their hopes for the 2010 year. The lanterns made for many beautiful, biodegradable and fun experiences and we've heard heaps of stories. Now we just need the rest of the footage for our Husk 'Lanterns of Hope' short film. If you haven't sent yours in yet, please do asap!Labels: graphic design, studio

HUSK are on the prowl for 1-2 freelancers to share a character studio space, situated on the top corner of Mt Eden Rd, Auckland. The space costs $180+gst per week for the full room and this covers rent, building insurance, rates and the use of facilities (meeting area, bathroom, kitchen etc). Lesser expenses are split across a total of 3 businesses and are based on individual business useage (phone, wireless ADSL, power etc). The lease is available from late June and would best suit a creative (design/photography/film/marketing etc) or 1-2 person business. If you or anyone you know might be interested, please forward this on and/or
With Lou about to bring another mini-Husky into the world, it became clear we were going to need to bring someone else in to share the design load here at Husk. Several worlds collided and taa-daa - mid-February saw Natalie Fejos came on the scene! Moving on from the magazine industry, she jumped at the chance to join the team and has already mastered the Monday morning coffee order and the ways of home-baked carrot cake bribery. You'll no doubt hear from her as Lou and Nat job share the studio management role over the next few months. However, Nat has stated clearly that Lou will be doing all the pushing herself!
We are excited to announce the newest (and sweetest) addition to our Husk family - 25-year-old Innie Huh, fresh out of design school with talent to boot. She a very happy kiwi-korean and is the fastest illustrator in the studio (basically way out of our league!). Innie is married to Billy, loves drawing, food and dressing up and slurps the most scary-looking (yet surprisingly tasty) green tea we've ever seen. She also brings her slippers to work - a good sign we think. We look forward to introducing her to your fine selves.
